Meridian connects two people who matter to each other. Each has a private space to think something through with an AI companion, and each chooses what — if anything — to send the other. The AI helps you get clear on your own side before you speak; the point is the conversation between the two people, not the conversation with the AI.
The screens are from a demo account; the people in them are invented.
Add the people who matter to you. Each of you has a space that is yours alone; the other person never sees into it.
Write about whatever is on your mind. Your companion helps you get clear on how you feel and what you actually want to say, before you say it.
When you are ready, it drafts a note from your side. Edit it, ask for one change, or close it and send nothing at all.
The other person gets that note and nothing else. Their own companion can add a little framing, based only on what you have shared with them. They can let you know they are reflecting on it. There are no read receipts.
Any two adults with a relationship worth tending. It isn't built around one kind.
Meridian is not therapy, counselling, or a crisis service, and the companion is an AI, not a person. It is for adults (18+).
If someone writes about being in danger, the app shows crisis resources and stores nothing about it. The published protocol: hellomeridian.app/safety.

A way to reach the people who matter to you with more care. You and each person you connect with have your own private space to think things through with an AI companion (named “Meridian” by default — you can rename it), and each of you chooses what — if anything — to send the other. The AI helps you get clear on your own side before you speak; the point is the conversation between the two of you, not the conversation with the AI. Sharing is deliberate — a message you choose to send, not a chat thread.
Yes. No other person can see what you write — not the people you’re connected with, not anyone. The only thing another person ever sees is a message you deliberately choose to share with them. Your messages do go to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate your companion’s replies — it doesn’t use them to train its models. The Privacy Policy spells this out.
No. You can use Meridian entirely on your own as a private journal for as long as you like.
Yes. Meridian works on your phone and in any web browser on your computer, with the same account — so you can reflect wherever you are. On a larger screen you’ll see a fuller layout with your journal, people, and shares side by side; on your phone it’s tuned for one hand.
“Just for me” creates a private space to reflect on a person — they’re never notified and never involved. “Invite them to connect” lets you share with each other; they join and you become connected. You can start someone “just for me” and invite them later — your private reflections carry over and stay private.
Whichever way is easier for you. You can send them an invite code to enter, or you can invite them by email — they’ll get a friendly message with a link to join (plus the code as a backup). Either way, you’re connected once they accept, and you can start sharing with each other.
Easily, and without losing anything. On their private space, choose “Already joined? Enter their code” — or, when you accept their invite, pick them from “Already have a private space for them?” Meridian folds your private notes and reflections about them into your new connection, so your companion keeps everything it learned. If you ever link the wrong person, you can undo it.
Yes. When you disconnect from someone, you can choose to keep a private space about them instead of removing them entirely. Your conversations and notes stay with you, privately, and you can invite them again later if you want — everything carries forward.
A gentle map of everyone you’ve added, with you at the center. Open anyone to open their space.
Reflecting on your own is valuable — but sometimes the person you’re thinking about is the one who most needs to hear it. Sharing lets you reach them with something considered rather than reactive: you take time to find the right words (with your companion’s help), and they receive it calmly, in their own time. It can open a door — an appreciation, a hard thing said gently, a misunderstanding cleared up — without the pressure of a live back-and-forth. And because you choose every word that’s shared, it stays safe and intentional.
From any conversation, tap Share, and choose what to send — this conversation, a specific topic, or your own words. Your companion drafts a message in your voice, tuned to that person. You can edit it, and only the exact text in the box is ever shared — nothing else from your journal.
On your Shares page for each connection, with two sides: Received (what they’ve shared with you) and Sent (what you’ve shared with them).
Take your time; a share is yours to sit with. When you’re ready, open it and tap “Talk to your AI about this” to think it through with your companion, privately. If you’d like the other person to know their words landed, you can send a gentle note back — like “I’m reflecting on this” or a quiet thank-you — without having to reply right away.
When you open a share, your companion adds a few sentences of its own underneath: what the other person seems to be saying, what it may be asking of you, and one thing for you. It is written for you, once, and only you can see it — the sender never sees it or knows it exists. Your companion writes it from what that person has shared with you and from your own reflections; it never sees their private conversations. If you tap “Talk to your AI about this,” the note is where the conversation starts. Some shares get no note at all, and that isn’t a signal of anything.
No. Meridian doesn’t show read receipts or “seen” times — reflecting shouldn’t feel watched. The only signal the other person ever gets is one you choose to send: a gentle acknowledgment like “I’m reflecting on this,” if and when you want to.
Yes. Open the share on your Shares page (the Sent tab) and choose Un-send. It disappears from their side — even if they’ve already opened it — and from your conversation, and it can’t be undone. One honest caveat: if they read it before you un-sent it, they read it. Un-send removes the message, not the memory.
Yes — you can attach photos in any chat, and your companion can look at them and talk about them with you. Photos stay private to your own conversations and are never sent to anyone else.
Yes. If a conversation belongs somewhere else — you started it in your journal but it’s really about a specific person, or the other way around — you can move it. Open the conversation’s menu (the ⋮) or swipe its row in a list and choose “Move.” It stays private to you; moving never shares it with anyone.
That’s what reflection prompts are for. On the Reflect screen you’ll find gentle prompts to get you started — tap one to open a fresh conversation around it, or ask for another until one feels right. You can keep the ones you like on your Saved shelf.
Yes. Each conversation gets a short auto-title so your lists are easy to scan, and you can rename it to anything you like. You can also delete a conversation — swipe its row or use the ⋮ menu. Deleting removes it just for you; anything you already shared stays with the person you shared it with.
Over time it builds a private understanding of you, and of each relationship, so it doesn’t start from scratch every time. This memory is yours alone — never visible to anyone you’re connected with.
When you add someone, your companion can do a short, gentle interview to understand the relationship from the start — how you know each other, what’s easy, what’s hard. It’s optional and skippable. What it learns becomes private “relationship basics” you can view anytime, and update with a quick “what’s changed?” check-in.
Yes — in your Profile you can give it any name you like. It’s private to you.
English by default. If you set your language in your Profile, your companion will chat with you in that language — and the notes and drafts it writes for you follow along too. (The app’s own buttons and labels stay in English for now.)
Yes. Open your profile and choose “Give Meridian to someone.” You pick how long you’d like to give them — three, six or twelve months — and enter their email address. You’ll see the price before you pay. You don’t need to be a subscriber yourself to give one.
No — never. You’re paying for their account, but it’s theirs. You won’t be able to read their journal, their conversations or their notes, and you won’t be told whether or how they use it. That’s what makes a gift safe to accept, and it isn’t something we could change later — the privacy is built the same way for them as it is for you.
No. It’s a single payment for a fixed length of time, and it never renews. When the time is up it simply ends — nobody is charged, and there’s nothing to cancel. If they haven’t claimed it within 90 days it expires and we’ll refund you.
You’ll get an email with a link. Opening it while you’re signed in adds the time to your account straight away. The email also has a short code, so if the link doesn’t work you can enter that instead — a code is always a bonus, never the only way in. If you don’t have an account yet, sign up first with the same email address it was sent to.
We’ll tell you before it does — you’ll get an email about a week ahead, and a quiet note in the app counting down. Everything you’ve written stays exactly where it is and stays yours; you just won’t be able to start new conversations with your companion until you subscribe. Nothing is deleted, and there’s no rush.
The gifted months are added on top of what you’re already paying for, not instead of it. Nothing is wasted: your subscription carries on as normal, and the gift time is there waiting if you ever stop.
No. It’s a caring AI companion and a sounding board — not a therapist or a crisis service. If you’re going through something serious, it will gently point you to real resources (like 988 or a crisis line). In an emergency, always contact local services.
Sometimes what someone shares with you is heavier than a message can hold. You don’t have to know the right thing to say. There’s a short, calm guide on what tends to help and where to turn — and the crisis lines in it are for people worried about someone, too. Nothing in Meridian watches for this; the guide is there whenever you want it.
You’re always in control. You choose every connection, you choose what to share, and you can disconnect or block someone at any time — privately.
On a connection’s page, open Manage — you can disconnect, block, or report someone there, all privately; they’re never told. Blocking stops them reaching you; reporting sends the details to the Meridian team to review. You can also report a specific share you’ve received. If you’re ever in danger, contact local emergency services.
Meridian is for adults (18+), and we confirm your email when you sign up to keep your account secure.
